Find Out What You’ve Got: Men turn the ladies around to face them and put them back (optional stick out tongue, make awful noises)

Ladies Behind: Ladies (without letting go hands) cast clockwise to stand behind partner

Men Behind The Ladies Behind: Men cast off clockwise, ladies moving forward a little, men ending behind the lady who was originally behind them (new partner, engage ‘grapple’ hold)

Start with men facing clockwise, their partner in front of them, ladies with hands in front but raised to shoulder level, men holding onto their partner’s hands. This ‘grapple’ hold is used throughout bars 1-10 with the ‘reverse grapple’ hold in bars 11-14. Hands are only released in bars 15-16.

Inspired by a dance Ian Carter had got from an American ballroom book, but then completely changed by me!

The Narcissus tune is from Ethelbert Nevin’s Water Scenes, Op. 13 #4, 1891. Pyewackett used to segue back and forth into the UK soap Coronation Street theme tune for a second tune. This is a saunter - not a schottische!
