Victor says" John and Sharon Shenkl commissioned this dance from me to mark their tenth anniversary. Shortly after I received the commission, I heard the tune on the radio. I immediately that it had to be the tune for the dance.The association of the tune with Bach’s wife, Anna Magdalena, corresponded nicely with John and Sharon."
