Michael Barraclough say: Although Ken Sheffield states that the dance is from Twenty Four New Country Dances for the year 1710 by Mr. Kynaston, the book was published by John Walsh, and is more appropriately referred to as Walsh's 24 Country Dances for the year 1710 (although the dances in the book were provided by Nathaniel Kynaston).

Michael Barraclough says: This is one of the most "reconstructed/adapted" dances with at least 9 different interpretations known to me. Ken Sheffield has condensed the triple minor dance into a duple minor by using the 'next 2nd couple' as a 3rd couple. It would be possible to use the original figures in this way, but Ken Sheffield has chosen to alter the dance significantly by including figures that were not in the original (stars) and converting the 1/2-figure eight into a whole double figure eight (not known at that time).
