Many traditional dances collected in the UK were done to 24-bar tunes. Morris dance tunes are a fertile source for these. If you can't find a 24-bar tune then use a 48-bar tune played ABC.

It is quite possible to call this dance withoput refering to 'ones' and 'twos' - just have the couple facing the band make the 1st arch.

Written in 1982 while attending a Folk Camp at Laines Barn, a magnificent historic barn in a beautiful rural setting near Wantage, Oxfordshire, UK. Dick Squires instigated the purchase, renovation and conversion of the barn to its present state. All of the early work carried out on the barn was by his own hand and much of the funding for this work came from his own resources.

Originally published as a 'proper' dance which required the 1s to end their swing with the lady on the left (not a problem in the UK). I have now changed it to an 'improper' dance.
