Notes
Notes
1
The dance is inspired by, and uses the same tune, as the Disbanded Officer in 24 Country Dances For 1787 (Thompson), reprinted in Compleat Collection Of Country Dances, Vol 5 (Thompson, 1788/1789).
2
The modern version of the Disbanded Officer (Ken Sheffield, From Two Barns, Vol 3) has little or no relationship to the original, except for the tune.
3
The Light Heart in Cahusac’s 24 Country Dances for 1800 has the same choreography as the Disbanded Officer, but a different tune.
