Tom says "Last Fall, our dance community suffered the sudden loss of Mars Longden. A true international dancer, he also enjoyed English Country Dancing. In response, I devised this simple dance that all our dance communities here in Chicago-land might be able to use. The dance is an easily accessible dance which I think Mars would have enjoyed since first man leads the first half of the dance. There is also a faint allusion to the square dance figure, Venus and Mars.

The dance was written with Queen's Jig in mind, but Mady Newfield wrote a very nice tune for the dance. Karen Axelrod and Earl Gaddis have recorded the tune, and have agreed to its free distribution. You can listen to the tune here.
